In celebration of my birthday, my friend Rita and I went to San Francisco and Palo Alto to visit with family and friends. Lots of food, fun, and frivolity ensued!

Rita departs New Orleans to Houston ~7:00 a.m.
JuJu leaves home for Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) ~6:30 a.m. for 9:00 a.m. flight
Rita meets up w/ JuJu at IAH - fly to Oakland airport

Taxi to Maxwell Hotel on Geary Street in San Francisco
Check in - room 607

Walk around Union Square and up Grant Avenue through Chinatown.
Lunch at Far East Restaurant for dim sum appetizers, Singapore rice noodles, and roasted duck w/ baby bok choy and steamed rice. Good stuff!

Walked back to Union Square - walked through Britex Fabrics for the amazing assortment of cloth, buttons, ribbons, and such. Very impressive!

Rested at hotel until dinner meeting w/ Rita's cousin Ollie and family.

Dinner at the French Club on Mason Street - just around the corner from the hotel. 8th floor of the Native Son's building.
